AREAS OF FOCUS

Liz Ryan, BA

Doctoral Extern
Currently Accepting New Clients
Children, Teens, Families

Hi, I’m Liz, a doctoral extern who is passionate about supporting children and their families in navigating life’s emotional and developmental challenges. I offer a warm, patient, and playful space where individuals can feel seen, heard, and supported, just as they are.

I’m currently completing my clinical practicum hours as part of my Doctorate in Psychology at Chestnut Hill College. I earned my B.A. in Psychology at St. Olaf College, where I explored my interest in family dynamics through a concentration in family studies.

Before beginning my clinical training, I worked closely with children and individuals with developmental and behavioral needs in various roles. I’ve seen firsthand how personalized support, strong relationships, and consistent skill-building can empower children and families to navigate challenges more confidently. Whether I’m helping build emotional regulation skills, improving social connections, or supporting children through transitions, I bring a calm, strengths-based presence and a commitment to creating a safe, supportive space for growth.

I take an integrative, person-centered approach, using a range of evidence-based strategies while adapting each session to fit the individual needs, strengths, and personality of each client. I use a mix of skills-based, relational, and creative strategies to support emotional regulation, build coping tools, and strengthen self-esteem. It’s a privilege to walk alongside children and families as they move toward greater connection, self-understanding, and well-being.

Fun facts about me:

  1. “Always remember, you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think, and loved more than you know.” - Christopher Robin to Winnie the Pooh

  2. I love to relax by listening to Taylor Swift and working on a paint-by-number kit.

  3. I enjoy collecting seashells and fossil hunting. I found a fossil that is in the Florida Museum of Natural History!
