Danielle Epler, PsyD

Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Accepting New Testing Clients
Children, Teens, Families

Hi! I’m Dr. Danielle Epler, a licensed clinical psychologist and the founder of The LEAP Clinic. For over a decade, I’ve specialized in supporting neurodivergent children, adolescents, and their families. My work has spanned community mental health centers, autism clinics, and a children’s hospital, giving me a deep understanding of the challenges families face—and the strengths they bring to the table.

I completed my doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Indianapolis, with a focus on children and adolescents. I then went on to complete my postdoctoral fellowship at Riley Hospital for Children, where I participated in the LEND Fellowship—an interdisciplinary training program specializing in the assessment and support of children with neurodevelopmental disabilities. Since then, I’ve provided specialized autism evaluations across the greater Philadelphia area, helping families better understand their child’s unique profile of strengths and needs.

Through comprehensive psychological and neurodevelopmental testing, I aim to bring clarity and direction. I work closely with families to understand what might be contributing to their child’s current challenges—and together, we create a roadmap that highlights their child’s strengths while providing the right supports for areas of need. My goal is to help families feel empowered with a deeper understanding of how to support their child at home, in school, and in the community.

In addition to evaluations, I offer therapy for children, teens, and their caregivers. I take a compassionate, strengths-based approach to help children manage big emotions, communicate more effectively, and build stronger relationships. I also work closely with parents to build skills for navigating emotional outbursts and behavioral challenges, while creating home environments that support each child’s potential.

I have received specialized training in Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), a parent-based approach for helping children with anxiety and OCD. This method allows me to guide parents in reducing accommodations and increasing confidence—without placing pressure on the child.

My goal is always to empower families with insight, support, and practical tools that honor each child’s individuality and needs.

Fun facts about me:

  1. “Strength doesn't come from what you can do. It comes from overcoming the things you once thought you couldn't.” ― Rikki Rogers

  2. There is nothing more relaxing to me than being by the water. I live for the summer when you can find me at the ocean or by the pool.

  3. I was born and raised in California. I lived there until I was 26 years old when I moved away for graduate school.
